With the launch of WoW SoD, players will be looking for ways to gain character power and make gold. Professions are a great way to achieve both goals.
Gathering professions, such as Herbalism and Mining, are effective for gold making. However, Blacksmithing, Alchemy, and Leatherworking provide more lucrative opportunities.
Inscription
The inscriptions are big gold makers in this expansion. The profession is important to level for the glyphs which sell well, but it’s also a great choice to combine with another profitable profession such as tailoring or Alchemy. Profession equipment is in high demand and there’s lots of new consumables that scribes can make.
Dragonflight introduces a few interesting changes to the profession: bind on pickup consumables that allow players to obtain knowledge for the various Inscription specializations, as well as reputation contracts, secondary stat fixing Missives and off-hands, and new enchantments such as Vantus runes and Fated Fortune Cards.
Recipe difficulty is a significant factor in Inscription’s profitability, and it can be improved through the use of Inspiration gear, profession bonuses, and reagents. The best way to optimize inscription is to focus on the glyph market, as it’s always moving and all glyphs will sell eventually. It’s just a matter of finding the ones with the most value and highest sales potential.
Jewelcrafting
While not the most important profession on the Classic Server, Jewelcrafting is still useful for its ability to create high-quality gems that can be used by other crafters to upgrade gear and make reagents like Draconic Vials. With the return of multiple sockets on armor, it’s also an excellent choice for players who want to upgrade their gear with powerful perks like Sensei’s Alexstraszite and Energized Ysemerald.
At level 300, Jewelcrafters can begin to learn a few new cuts that can be added to items for their sockets. These designs can be purchased from your faction’s Master Jewelcrafter in Hellfire Peninsula, or from various faction vendors that require a certain amount of reputation with them to purchase.
Additionally, the gathering professions of Herbalism and Mining can provide an abundant source of raw materials that can be sold on the Auction House for a decent profit. These resources can be gathered with the help of addons like GatherMate and Auctionator.
Alchemy
With the launch of Season of Discovery, players are looking to find the best professions for both character power progression and profitable buy wow classic season of discovery gold. While Blacksmithing can be a solid choice, other options can also provide lucrative returns on investment.
Alchemy remains a strong contender due to its ability to produce consumables. Potions and flasks are a requirement for any PvPer, raider or Mythic+ player. Similarly, Oils and Elixirs can help boost your characters’ health while leveling up.
However, the success of this profession depends on the price of herbs and Awakened elemental reagents. If these reagents are expensive, it may be difficult to make a profit on this profession. Additionally, the alchemy process is very time-consuming and requires a lot of knowledge of RNG and %s. Despite these issues, if you are willing to spend some time on this profession it can be an excellent gold-making option for SoD.
Cooking
As a secondary profession, Cooking is quite useful, especially in the early stages of a new Server. It can be used to sell cooked food items on the Auction House for a decent profit, and it also provides a good Stamina + Spirit food buff from the start of the Server. Furthermore, processed Cooking ingredients usually Vendor for more Gold than raw ones.
On matured Servers, Fishing might prove to be a very profitable profession as well. It can be used to gather the materials required for various in-demand Alchemy recipes, and it can also be sold on the Auction House for a small profit (especially when you combine it with other gathering professions like Herbalism and Mining). Fishing is also a relaxing passtime that can be done while waiting for your friends in dungeons or PVP. This makes it a great option for people who are interested in getting into the Crafting professions but don’t want to abandon their Gathering jobs just yet.
