Mt. Shivling Expedition (6543 M)
Named after the most revered Hindu god of India, Lord Shiva, Mount Shivling is also known as Shivling Peak, is one of the sacred peaks of India, located in the Gaumukh Tapovan region of Uttarakhand. The old, glacial tooth-like peak stands at a staggering height of 6543m above the ground and is also close to the snout of Gangotri Glacier. Since many have already seen it in the images of Mount Shivling, it resembles a tooth-like snow-covered pyramid. That’s why many of the local people of Uttarakhand refer to it as Shiva Lingam.
