Packing smart is essential when flying with United Airlines. Their carry-on policy allows one carry-on bag (up to 9” x 14” x 22”) and one personal item (up to 9” x 10” x 17”). If you’re flying in Basic Economy, you can only bring a personal item unless you qualify for an exemption. If you attempt to bring a full-sized carry-on in Basic Economy, you’ll need to check it at the gate and pay a $25 handling fee plus standard checked bag costs.
